I'm about to start my final year of a 4-year
MEng in Computer Science at Bristol University.
I've previously worked for the game developer, Rage
Software (Liverpool), and 3D-chip designers PowerVR (Hemel Hempstead).
I joined the Mobile Bristol project for the summer
of 2002 as a programmer, and went on to develop an indoor demo
of the technology called 'Team Pilot' that was featured on local
TV.
I came back for the summer of 2003 to work on more
of the technical areas of the project, and over the next 9 months
I will be developing the first city-wide demo of Mobile Bristol
technology. This is likely to take the form of a game or experience
involving interaction between players, a persistent game environment
that remembers you from your previous visit, and integrating GPS,
WI-FI, and GPRS amongst other things. Currently I'm developing
some of the technology to support this (Flash XMLSocket integration,
seamless merging of different connection speeds etc).
In my spare time I love travelling, play most sports
going, and turn up at the majority of Bristol's many live music
gigs.
