Since joining HPLabs in 1985, Richard Hull
has worked, managed and published in a broad range of research
areas including knowledge-based management systems, manufacturing
planning, handwriting interfaces, situated computing, and appliance
communications. His current research interests are in the use
of pervasive mobile computing in experiential applications. Within
Mobile Bristol, he has responsibility for the Application Framework
and is particularly active in developing the framework architecture
and core software components. He also leads the Mobile Bristol
contribution to the Savannah project and is active in many of
the other application projects.
RIchard gained a BSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University
of Surrey in 1979 and a DPhil in Computer Science from the Universtiy of Sussex
in 1984. He has also held research and lecturing posts at Philips Reseach Labs,
Standard Telecommunications Laboratories and the University of Sussex.
