I joined The University of Bristol
in April 2003 after spending a year at HP Labs.
I work on the hardware design of the Mobile Bristol
wearables, as well as doing some software. Most of the programming
work is in assembler for the PIC chip.
Before coming to Mobile Bristol, I worked with the
INMOS transputer. I built host interfaces for the transputer while
working at INMOS, and subsequently built a transputer-based interferomeric
sonar system for Submetrix.
In my spare time, I collect and restore classic computers
such as the PDP-11 and the UK101. I'm a total Unix geek, running
Linux on x86, Sparc and Arm systems as well as NetBSD on Alpha.
